International Chair, ThinkFirst Board of Directors

Longtime prevention advocate and ThinkFirst chapter sponsor Dr. Tetsuo Tatsumi has recently assumed the role of International Chairperson for the ThinkFirst National Injury Prevention Board of Directors.

As incoming Chair, Dr. Tatsumi will carry on the landmark work of founding International Chair, Dr. Roberto de Leo. Dr. Tatsumi will continue to guide the expansion of the ThinkFirst Global community and oversee the continuing implementation of the Interpore Cross International grant. The Interpore Cross International grant supports the global expansion of ThinkFirst chapters and the translation of curricula and materials worldwide.

Dr. Tatsumi, born in Maebashi, Japan, received his neurosurgical training at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He led a successful 30-year private practice in Canton, OH before retiring in Colorado in 1998. Dr. Tatsumi has been closely involved with ThinkFirst since 1994 and currently serves as the ThinkFirst Vail Valley Medical Center Sponsoring Physician. Most recently, Dr. Tatsumi received the prestigious Humanitarian Award from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
