ThinkFirst for Teens!   Hey Teens!
ThinkFirst for Teens!

Some of the most serious injuries are brain and spinal cord injuries. A broken arm heals in about 6 or 8 weeks (arm will work when the cast comes off). With this type of injury you will be able to build that muscle up again and go on with your life as it was before. But if you injure your brain or spinal cord, it wouldn't be so simple. Your brain and spinal cord are made up of nerve tissue, and nerve tissue isn't able to grow back together the same way your bones or skin can. We also don't have cures for these injuries, so you could end up with a permanent disability. . . . one that could last for the rest of your life. The good news is, most injuries are preventable. But, it's all about choices. . . taking time to make the right choice to keep ourselves and others from ending up in a tragic situation. TheThinkFirst Foundation helps you learn about safe choices, so you do not end up in an emergency room with a permanent injury. (Read more!)
